Using the term “incredible pace,” Avalanche officials said Sunday about only 100 season tickets have been canceled for the upcoming season.

“To say the least, the interest of our fans in this market is just amazing for Colorado Avalanche hockey,” executive vice president of Kroenke Sports Enterprises Paul Andrews said in a statement released by the team. “The support and loyalty they are showing is remarkable and I’m taking this opportunity to sincerely thank them.”

As in the past, the Avalanche will cap season-ticket sales at 15,500. The Pepsi Center seats 18,007 for hockey. The on-sale date for individual game seats has not been announced.

“Mid-August, we are already at 85 percent of our cap capacity, the exact same percentage we were at the same time during the summer of 2001,” said Andrews, referring to the months after the Avs won the Stanley Cup.

According to the team, 38 accounts have canceled their season tickets (approximately 100 seats), which the team says is the same level of attrition it sees every year, and they have added 400 season-ticket deposits to the waiting list.

The Avs have the longest home sellout streak in NHL history, currently at 439 games.
