Denver Denver police are looking for a suspect after a drive-by shooting that injured two girls who were sleeping in their bedrooms.

The incident happened around 11 p.m. Sunday night. Police say the suspect, using a high-powered rifle, fired several bullets into three different homes. The girls were hit at their home on 1st and Osceola.

The girls, ages 12 and 7, were taken to Denver Health Medical Center.

9News.com reports that the 7 year old was hit in the arm and leg. The 12-year-old was hit in the chest but the bullet apparently didn’t penetrate her skin. Both girls were reportedly in stable condition.

Witnesses told police that two vehicles were seen driving away. One is a red Pontiac Grand Am, which has since been located. The other is a white 4-door sedan, possibly a Dodge Lancer or Mercury Cougar.

Denver Police are asking for help from the public in identifying a suspect in the shootings. Anyone with information should call Crime Stoppers at 720-913-STOP (7867).
