The sign at The Goat in Keystone calls it a “soup and whiskey tavern.” While it is most definitely a tavern where the whiskey, wine and PBR flow freely at all hours, it’s not necessarily the best spot for soup. A recent stop revealed the soup of the day to be a beef stew, which was far from appealing in the 90-degree heat. But The Goat does serve a mean breakfast and a meaner Bloody Mary. The joint, which often features the best live music in Summit County, shuts down for just four hours a day, so bedraggled and confused servers are common in the morning hours. If you like a nip or two with your eggs and bacon, nobody will give it a second thought at The Goat. It’s definitely the most colorful spot in the carefully manicured village of Keystone.
Get there — The Goat is located off U.S. 6 adjacent to the Inn at Keystone.
