Woodland Park – Investigators found the bodies of three people in a motor home shortly after a man called 911 saying he had killed his wife and son and planned to kill himself, authorities said today.
Teller County Undersheriff Marcus Woodward said the bodies of a man, a woman and a child were found Tuesday in the motor home at the Manitou Lake Recreation Park.
Woodward said the deaths were being treated as a murder-suicide.
The victims’ names and ages were not immediately released. An autopsy was planned Thursday.
Sheriff Kevin Dougherty said the three were apparently camp hosts who welcomed visitors to the recreation area about seven miles north of Woodland Park.
