F. LaGard Smith seminar series|”Exploring the Mystery of God’s Sovereign Will,” the first session in a free seminar by speaker and writer F. LaGard Smith, will be at 7 p.m. Smith will give the second session of the seminar, “When We Die, What Happens Next?” at 9 a.m. Saturday, and the third session of the seminar, “Are We Sinners Because We Sin, Or Do We Sin Because We’re Sinners?” at 7 p.m. Saturday. The final sessions in the seminar will be “What Would It Have Been Like to Be a First Century Christian?” at 9:15 a.m. Sunday and “Unbroken Bread,” at 10:10 a.m. Sunday. All sessions will be held in the auditorium at Mountain Vista High School, 10585 Mountain Vista Ridge, Highlands Ranch.

Outdoor contemporary service|The Rev. Betsey Moe of Wellshire Presbyterian Church will lead an outdoor contemporary service at 10 a.m. in Washington Park near East Arizona Avenue and South Gilpin Street.
Buddhist/Christian presentation|The Buddhist/Christian Interfaith Community at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, 1615 Ogden St., is having a meditation and dialogue with Gansho Carol O’Dowd of the Tri-State Denver Buddhist Temple and the Rev. Toni Cook of St. Paul’s B/CIC on “Buddhist/Christian Ritual for Dealing with Loss,” at 5 p.m.
Welcome ceremony|The Rev. Aaron Black Sr., new senior pastor at Scott United Methodist Church, will be welcomed by the congregation after the 10 a.m. service at Scott UMC, 2880 Garfield St., Denver.
