Blues & Brews Tickets for the annual Telluride Blues & Brews Festival Sept. 16-18 are available. The festival is held at Telluride Town Park, an outdoor music venue nestled in the Rocky Mountains. Friday’s lineup includes David Jacobs-Strain Band, Eddie Turner, Corey Harris, The Subdudes, Susan Tedeschi and Black Crowes, Rose Hill Drive, and Alektorophobia, featuring Eric McFadden and Wally Ingram. Saturday artists include Diunna Green Leaf and Blue Mercy Band, Dwayne Dopsie & The Zydeco Hellraisers, Alvin Youngblood Hart’s Muscle Theory, Mofro, Maceo Parker and The Robert Cray Band, Hazel Miller, and Eric Lindell. Sunday features the Dixie Hummingbirds, Chris Thomas King, Henry Butler and the Game Band, Sonny Landreth, Joan Osborne and Al Green. Sheepdogs to compete in Meeker

Mark your calendars for the annual Meeker Classic Sheepdog Championship Trials on Wednesday. One hundred thirty of the nation’s top dogs match wits with the flighty range sheep and compete for a purse of $20,000. The keen eye and quick wit of the border collie and the wisdom and training by the handler are key elements in the partnership for success. Handlers and dogs come from more than 15 states, Canada, South Africa, New Zealand and Scotland to compete. Events also include an international art show, crafts and food. Admission for one day is $10; a five-day pass is $30. Admission for children 8-16 is $5 for one day and $15 for five days. Kids under 8 are admitted free. Experience the West in Steamboat

Saturday provides many diverse activities for the visitor to Steamboat Springs. Enjoy great fun for the whole family with a day of Western entertainment and regional arts and crafts. Mariachi Festival in Las Vegas

On Sept. 17, the longest-running Hispanic event in Las Vegas is returning to the Aladdin Resort & Casino. The Las Vegas International Mariachi Festival will take to the Aladdin Theatre stage at 8 p.m. Featuring three Mariachis from México and the United States – Mariachi Vargas De Tecalitlán, Mariachi Sol de Mexico De José Hernández, and Mariachi Estrella de Jalisco – the 15th annual Las Vegas International Mariachi Festival will celebrate Fiestas Patrias (Mexico’s Independence) with a 3 1/2-hour musical event.
