Pioneers finally beat CSU in volleyball

Behind senior hitter Amanda Millard, the University of Denver volleyball team (2-3) beat Colorado State for the first time with a 30-23, 30-27, 28-30, 30-27 victory Tuesday night at DU. Millard had a season-high 16 kills. CSU (1-3) had won the past 10 meetings between the teams.

DU coach Beth Kuwata said the victory was “one of our biggest ever as a program.”

Fort Lewis, Mines earn spots in soccer poll

The National Soccer Coaches Association of America/Adidas released the first men’s Division II regular-season poll, ranking Fort Lewis (1-0-0) 14th and Colorado Mines (2-0-0) 20th.
