Colorado authors record for the blind

8 A.M.-8 P.M. | More than 60 Colorado authors will participate in the “Colorado Authors Lend Their Voices to Recording for the Blind & Dyslexic” marathon at the RFB&D Studio at 1355 S. Colorado Blvd., Building C, Suite 406. Helen Thorpe is the honorary chairwoman of the readathon. Stop by throughout the day and view Colorado authors reading in the seven digital recording booths.

“Confessions of a White House Ghost Writer”

2 P.M. | The Women’s Library Association & Friends of Penrose Library open their fall lecture series with “Confessions of a White House Ghost Writer” at the Phipps Memorial Conference Center, 3400 Belcaro Drive. Former White House speechwriter and diplomat James C. Hume is the featured speaker. A tea is offered at 1:30 p.m. Admission is $10 for nonmembers of the WLA/Friends of Penrose. Call 303-871-3405.
