So who is Colorado’s studliest dood? It has to be Josh Bernstein, CEO of the Boulder Outside Survival School.

The Indiana Jones clone has been in Women’s Wear Daily and the NY Times as a trendy dresser – and he’s the former boyfriend of Dylan Lauren, Ralph Lauren’s daughter. Still, he’s wearing lotsa Lauren in his two-page color spread in the premiere issue of Men’s Vogue, that debuted this week.

The story salutes his History Channel series, “Digging the Truth,” as the highest rated series in the network’s history. But who knows how much he’s home, with a flat in NYC and the show taking him to Chichen Itza one week and the Great Pyramids of Giza the next.

The must-have survival kit he carries at all times includes: Rechargeable flashlight, multitool, two passports, sunblock, mints, compass – and a copy of “Meditations” by Marcus Aurelius.

Oh brudda. I could go without the mints, but never without my Marcus.

Refunds

The Adega people promised to contact gift certificate holders by the end of last month – but didn’t. It’ll be another week or two before the owners add up all the outstanding certificates and then decide what they will do about them.

Acting GM Randall Corcoran says he’ll talk to the owners this week and soon have a plan. But don’t expect a full refund. It will probably be a partial refund or credit at Table 6, which is a separate restaurant with a sister-like relationship to Adega.

Speaking of closed restaurants, the contents of Go Fish Grill go on the auction block 10 a.m. Monday at 250 Josephine St. to settle taxes.

NORM!!

“Cheers” barfly George Wendt was in town Friday to find a local beer “developer” for Samuel Adams. When he walked into Uptown Tavern, everyone yelled “George!” which was odd. He sat at the end of the bar, looking like the big, shy guy he is, posed for pics, drank a beer – then ran a “Jeopardy” style contest to pick the most knowledgable local beer drinker. Denver’s Douglas Johnson won the honor and has a chance now to become a Samuel Adams insider.

Katrina

There are hundreds of ways for you to help out the victims of Katrina. A good one is through the people at Rioja restaurant. On Sept. 19 they gather six top Denver chefs to cook for you; all proceeds to go to the gulf. The toques are David Kaufman, The Truffle; Lachlan Mackinnon-Patterson, Frasca; Eric Roeder, Bistro Vendome; Rebecca Weitzman, Star Cafe; Sean Yontz, Mezcal; and host chef Jennifer Jasinski, Rijoa.

Tariff is $125, call 303-820-2282.

Check out the big-name athletes outside Rise nightclub in LoDo all day today, raising $ for Gulf relief – and there’s a Broncos/Nuggets party there tonight to help survivors.

City spirit

Pete Wernick, a.k.a. Dr. Banjo, played with Hot Rize, lives outside of Boulder and is booked on “Letterman” Sept. 21 with a banjo gang that’ll include Earl Scruggs and Steve Martin … Brew at the Zoo comes down 6:30-10 p.m. Friday, you know where, 25 brews, $60 at the door … Sez who: “I don’t like money but it quiets my nerves.” Joe Louis
