More Katrina from Moore?

Michael Moore is “seriously considering” making a documentary about the devastating Hurricane Katrina and its aftermath, a source told MSNBC.com’s Jeannette Walls.

“It has all the elements that made ‘Fahrenheit 9/11’ such a powerful film,” the source said. Moore’s rep didn’t have a comment by press time, but Moore is not short of opinions on the Bush administration’s handling of the relief effort.

LaChapelle, Simpsons a snapshot of discord

Let’s hope at this week’s Fashion Week in New York, Jessica and Ashlee Simpson don’t run into famed photographer David LaChapelle.

“They’re everything that’s wrong with music,” LaChapelle told the New York Daily News’ Lloyd Grove at a benefit event. “They’re everything wrong with culture, and everything wrong with art. … They’re reality-red-carpet, lip-synching television stars.”

So, what’s got LaChapelle so riled? According to the Simpson camp, it’s because Jessica and Ashlee refused to pose for him for a Rolling Stone magazine cover. A Simpson source said, “The girls were looking for a photographer who wasn’t a one-trick pony. (LaChapelle is) good at what he does, but that’s it.”

In a statement issued through LaChapelle’s producer, he said: “We were going to try and make the Simpsons look cool. I realize now that is an impossible task.”

Meeeee-ooowww!

Martha Stewart will make her first late-night talk show appearance with her old pal David Letterman, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Stewart will be a guest on CBS’s “The Late Show With David Letterman” on Sept. 19, her first interview since serving a five-month prison sentence and nearly six months of house arrest. Stewart’s decision is a bit of a surprise since her new primetime reality series, “The Apprentice: Martha Stewart,” airs on NBC.

Meanwhile, Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld postponed his Tuesday appearance on the “Late Show” because of the relief effort for Hurricane Katrina victims.

When it comes to rehab centers, Ozzy Osbourne knows his stuff. The rocker gave Playboy magazine his bests and worsts:

“Betty Ford is a good one. And a place called Promises, in Malibu, which is like a Hollywood camp resort for wealthy lunatics,” Osbourne said in Playboy’s October issue. “Hazelden, in Minnesota, is a really hard one. They do not (mess) around. I checked out because it scared me … I was like, ‘I felt like a piece of (expletive) before. That’s why I am paying you all this money. You don’t need to tell me every day.”‘

Russell Crowe told Marie Claire magazine he wants more children, but admits his wife of two years, Danielle Spencer, needs persuading.

“I’d have a dozen already, but I’m not the only one involved,” Crowe told the magazine. “I think it would be a great thing if (19-month-old) Charlie has brothers and sisters, but don’t tell anyone.”

Club owner Cecil Barker paid $200,000 for a New Year’s Eve date with Paris Hilton as part of a Red Cross benefit dinner in Miami, the New York Daily News reported.

We assume Barker’s been advised not to bring his video camera on the date.

A group of 10 women bid $10,000 for a date with Colin Farrell in the same auction. The Irish actor paid $50,000 for a portrait of Ray Charles.

Just call her Katie Cruise. Katie Holmes will take her fiancé, actor Tom Cruise’s last name, In Touch magazine reports.

Shar Jackson wants to be more than a celebrity footnote.

The mother of Kevin Federline’s two children is working on an album. It’s not a far-fetched plan. The 28-year-old actress has spent the past several months in a recording studio and told MTV.com she has “about four more songs to do.” The first single “Make Me Feel Good,” will be released in September, Jackson says.

Jackson was one-fifth of the girl-group Mpulz, which planned an album in 2001 but was scrapped when the group disbanded. The entire CD should be released in early 2006.
