One of the American Westap most exclusive private estates is heading to auction, as billionaire William I. Koch will sell his Aspen ranch, .

Located in Aspen’s Castle Creek Valley, the 52.2-acre property spans more than 25,000 square feet across eight buildings. At its center is a 16,631-square-foot main residence designed by Colorado-based architecture firm , along with seven guest cabins and a fitness center.

Elk Mountain Lodge has 15 bedrooms, 17 full bathrooms and two half-baths.

The ranch features views of the Elk Mountain Range, two ponds, river frontage and an eight-car garage. The property is about 11 miles from downtown Aspen.

“I’ve seen firsthand how auctions can unlock extraordinary outcomes across art, wine and other one-of-a-kind holdings. The Aspen property has been an incredibly meaningful place for my family, but the time has come for someone else to enjoy it, and I look forward to seeing its next chapter unfold,” Koch said.

Koch is the founder of and a celebrated figure in the worlds of fine wine, art and competitive sailing, most notably winning the .

Elk Mountain Lodge, at 125 Rooney Circle, is listed at $99 million and bidding is set to and conclude July 17 through Concierge Auctions’ online marketplace: . The sale is being handled by Concierge Auctions in cooperation with Compass Real Estate Broker Steven Shane.

“Bill Koch has consistently demonstrated an extraordinary ability to identify, curate, and ultimately position rare assets for maximum interest,” Shane said.

“This unduplicatable ranch stands among the most significant property offerings in Aspen, not only because of its scale and craftsmanship, but because estates of this caliber and provenance simply cannot be replicated today.”

As part of Concierge Auctions’ Key For Key giving program in partnership with Giveback Homes, the closing will result in funding toward new homes built for families in need.

“This is exactly how sophisticated collectors transact the world’s most marquee assets. Bill Koch understands better than anyone that a defined timeline paired with global exposure is the most powerful strategy for truly one-of-a-kind assets like this one,” said Chad Roffers, CEO and co-founder of Concierge Auctions.
