Before the benefit comes the kickoff party, an opportunity to rev up volunteers, sell tickets and
generate buzz for a pet charity. A recent luncheon and cocktail party attracted fashion fans who
came out to support Opera Colorado and the Children’s Diabetes Foundation.

Gowns for the Gala
Fall was in the air as 50 ladies
lunched and watched a parade of
gowns in the designer department of
Neiman Marcus in Cherry Creek.
Nancy Sagar narrated as models glided
by in ball gowns, sheaths and capelet-topped dresses suited for the Nov.
3 black-tie opening of Carmen. Iridescent
and metallic fabrics, feather and
ribbon trims, beaded insets and such
unusual colors as green, brown and
purple were some of the dress-up
ideas patrons talked about. “I think
people are going to get dressed up for
this benefit because it’s one for the
history books, being the first season
of the new Opera House,” Sagar said.
An Evening in Seville to benefit Opera
Colorado on Nov. 3; 5:30 p.m. cocktails
and dinner in the Seawall Ballroom,
