A football jersey autographed by NFL all-time leading ball carrier Emmitt Smith, memorabilia signed by Green Bay Packers quarterback Brett Favre and equipment donated by several NFL teams will be auctioned Friday at a fundraiser for hurricane- ravaged Jackson County, Miss.
Shannon Moynahan, one of the organizers, said several Denver Broncos will attend at the Event Center in Castle Rock.
Douglas County has adopted the rebuilding effort in Jackson County, which includes Pascagoula and Biloxi, she said.
Onetime Bronco cornerback Terrell Buckley and Buffalo Bills quarterback Shane Matthews have joined in the effort and helped round up the NFL equipment and memorabilia, Moynahan said.
Children’s events will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with bands, speakers and both live and silent auctions starting at 6 p.m.
