A 21-year-old woman kidnapped Thursday afternoon was found “OK” about four hours later, and police had her ex-boyfriend in custody about a half hour after that.
Police say 25-year-old Kenneth Holland physically assaulted Nicole Denzer and forced her into a silver Chrysler Pacifica near South Corona Street and Mexico Avenue Avenue.
Holland and Denzer have an on-again, off-again relationship, and sometime during the day Denzer decided she did not want to spend any more time with Holland, said police spokeswoman Virginia Lopez.
About 5:30 p.m. Holland showed up in front of a home where Denzer was with family members and took her, Lopez said.
Denzer was located about 9:25 p.m., but no details were available Thursday night, Lopez said. About 30 minutes later, Lopez reported that Holland was taken into custody without incident north of Denver.
Holland has an extensive criminal history including prior drug, assault, indecent exposure and kidnapping arrests. He was considered armed and dangerous, Lopez said.
Denzer also has a criminal record including an arrest for indecent exposure. The Colorado Bureau of Investigation lists her as a registered sex offender, but details about that offense were unavailable late Thursday.
