Who: Denver cornerback Darrent Williams
When: Monday night against Kansas City
Why: We may be starting to see the early stages of a rookie of the year run. Williams, a second-round pick from Oklahoma State, is showing signs of being a special player. For all those who like to pounce on Denver’s draft issues – and there have been some – the Broncos seem to have nailed this one. The 56th pick of the draft has made the coaching staff fall in love with him. Expect to see a lot of him at cornerback Monday night, and he could make a starting push if he continues to play well. Plus, he has been electric at times as a return man. Williams is an impact player who plays with great intensity and confidence.
