Nextel Cup/glance
Keys to victory: On their final pit stops at Dover, Mark Martin replaced two tires and Jimmie Johnson swapped four. Johnson’s was the better choice, as he passed Martin on the restart and led the rest of the way – and he stole the point standings lead after two of 10 races in the Chase. The victory was the third of the year for Johnson and his third win at Dover.
What you might have missed: Tony Stewart, the Nextel Cup points leader for the last seven races, fought with an ill-handling car and finished in 18th place.
Back on track: Sunday, UAW-Ford 500, Talladega Superspeedway, KUSA-9/11:30 a.m.
