Michael Jackson beat one rap but may be ready to reinvent his career as a rapper.

Starting with his Hurricane Katrina-inspired song “From the Bottom of My Heart,” Jackson is working with such hip-hop stars as Jay-Z, Missy Elliott and Mary J. Blige. Jackson wants a harder-edged sound, author Michael Luckman told the New York Daily News. Luckman, who wrote “Alien Rock,” claims he’s close to the Jackson camp.

Kate Moss is expected to check into a rehab clinic overseas, the Daily Mirror reported. Moss, 31, lost several modeling contracts when she admitted her drug use last week.

Grammy Award winner D’Angelo was critically injured in a wreck outside his hometown of Richmond, Va.

D’Angelo, 31, born Michael Eugene Archer, was in a 2003 Hummer sport utility vehicle on Sept. 19 when it crossed the roadway and struck a fence, ejecting the singer, a state police spokesperson said Monday. D’Angelo was initially listed in critical condition at Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center. His family has asked his updated condition not be released. Another person, Lynne Sellers, also was injured. Police could not say which of the two had been driving.

Country singer Mindy McCready was hospitalized after overdosing on antidepressants early Friday after a quarrel with the father of her unborn child, reports The Associated Press. Officials said she was in fair condition in a Nashville hospital.

According to a police report, McCready, 29, and William McKnight were arguing on the phone about whether his parents would help pay for the pregnancy. She became angry and took about 30 antidepressant pills, the report says.

Vincent Pastore, a former co-star on “The Sopranos,” has agreed to plead guilty to a charge that he attempted to assault a former girlfriend last spring. The plea bargain, still requiring a judge’s approval, calls for Pastore to perform 10 days of community service and attend a counseling program for batterers.

Is Paris Hilton’s engagement on the rocks? The father of her fiancé Paris Latsis seems to think so.

Gregoris Kasidokostas told Star magazine, “There does seem to be some problem (between them). I understand that they are not as close as they used to be.”

Kutcher, Moore wed

Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore have denied for months they were getting married. After a two-year romance, the Hollywood couple tied the knot Saturday

According to Us Weekly and People magazines’ websites, guests included Moore’s ex-husband, Bruce Willis, and their three daughters, Soleil Moon Frye and her husband, Jason Goldberg, who co-produced the MTV television show “Punk’d” with Kutcher.

It’s the first marriage for Kutcher, 27, and third for Moore, 42.
