UNSUNG HEROES

Colorado State H-back Kory Sperry had four catches for 70 yards to set up Luke Roberts’ big day. Sperry was used as a wideout, while Tristan Walker kept his blocking back role to open up the running and passing games. AFA punter Donny Heaton averaged 46.4 yards and allowed only three returns for 14 yards. AFA’s Chad Hall became the first Falcons halfback to rush for more than 100 yards since Anthony Butler’s 107 against Northwestern in 2003.

Justin Holland’s 44-yard pass to Luke Roberts was held up by instant replay, but it set up David Anderson’s first touchdown. That gave CSU the lead for good at 20-16 in the third quarter.

TURNING POINT

CSU scored on back-to-back possessions in the third quarter and forced three straight punts by Air Force after a scoring exchange at the end of the first half.
