Glenwood ghost walk

Take a Ghost Walk through Linwood Cemetery in Glenwood Springs on Friday, Saturday, Oct. 16, 21, 22 and 23. Tours are at 7 p.m., 7:45 p.m., 8:30 p.m. and 9:15 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays and at 7 p.m., 7:45 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. on Sundays. Meet at the trailhead to Linwood (Pioneer) Cemetery at 12th Street and Bennett Avenue, where tour guides lead you up to and through Glenwood’s oldest cemetery. Participants may meet “Doc Holliday,” as well as many other Glenwood Springs pioneers and hear their stories. Tickets, $15 per person, are available at the Frontier Historical Museum or Through the Looking Glass bookstore, both in Glenwood Springs. Call the museum at 970-945-4448.

Winter Park ski swap

It’s time for the autumn ritual of acquiring new equipment for the upcoming ski and snowboard season. The 21st annual Winter Park Ski and Sports Equipment Swap will be Friday-Oct. 16. Located at the base of Winter Park Resort, the swap features thousands of items, including new and used equipment and clothing. All proceeds benefit the Winter Park Competition Center programs.

For a sneak peek and the first opportunity to snag the prime merchandise, the equipment swap is open Friday from 5-9 p.m. with an admission fee of $2 per person or $5 per family. Pumpkin paradise

Paint pumpkins, parade in costume and gather around the campfire with your family at Estes Park Center or Snow Mountain Ranch’s YMCA of the Rockies’ Family Fall Festivals. Fests at Estes Park Center are Oct. 21-23 and 28-30. Activities include seasonal crafts, pumpkin carving and painting, a costume parade and campfire gatherings.

Family Fun Fest at Snow Mountain Ranch is Oct. 28-30. Activities include outdoor guided hikes, pumpkin decorating and costume dressing for the Fall Fest Carnival. Wine in the Pines

Keystone presents an enchanted evening at the 22nd annual Wine in the Pines from 6-10 p.m. on Oct. 22. Partake of gourmet fare, 500 international wines and live entertainment with silent and live auctions.

Steamboat ski swap

Steamboat Springs Middle School is the site of the Ski and Sport Swap on Oct. 21-22. Sell your items in the consignment area or pick up equipment and apparel from local and regional vendors. Admission for Friday night’s early-bird sale at 8 p.m. is $5 per adult; kids under 18 enter for free. Hours on Saturday are 8 a.m.-3 p.m. and admission is free. Equipment and apparel to be sold on consignment must be registered from 5-7 p.m. on Oct. 21 at the Middle School. Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club retains a 30 percent commission on all sold consignment items. Proceeds from the Ski and Sport Swap benefit the SSWSC and its athletes. Santa Fe Sistah Summit

Let Your Spirit Soar is the theme of the Sistah Summit retreat Nov. 3-6 in Santa Fe, which encourages women to make time to nurture themselves and ascend to new heights of awareness in the majesty of the Rocky Mountains.
