Air Force senior Shannon Buck recorded two victories Thursday at the 2005 ITA Polo Ralph Lauren All-American Tennis Championships in Tulsa, Okla.
Buck, unseeded but ranked 28th in the country, upset 12th-seed Tom Eklund of South Carolina 6-2, 6-2. He then beat Rohan Gajjar of Arkansas 6-2, 6-0 in the second round.
Adam Holmstrom of Denver also advanced to the third round with wins over Alex Schweizer of Auburn and Oscar Posada of East Tennessee State.
CHL Eagles sign former CC standout Polaski
The Colorado Eagles of the Central Hockey League signed Colorado Springs native and former Colorado College forward Scott Polaski and defenseman Jason Lundmark, the brother of New York Rangers center Jaime Lundmark.
Polaski teamed last season on a line with Marty Sertich and Brett Sterling that scored 144 points, 33 percent of the Tigers’ scoring. Polaski’s mother, Mary, is a world team speed skating coach and his aunt is Olympic gold medalist Bonnie Blair.
Lundmark, a 5-foot-11, 185-pound defenseman from Edmonton, Alberta, played last season for the Spruce Grove Saints of the Alberta Junior Hockey League, where he finished second in the AJHL defenseman of the year voting.
