Police arrested Ezamika Brown in Burlington, Iowa, on Monday, a day after his live-in girlfriend was shot several times at a Denver apartment complex.
Brown, 25, was captured by Burlington police as he rode a bus from Denver.
His girlfriend, Jeanette Rosanne Gabaldon, 27, remained in critical condition Monday at Swedish Medical Center, police said.
She stumbled out of her apartment in the 2500 block of Dayton Way on Sunday morning. Gabaldon had been shot several times, and neighbors called for help just before 8 a.m.
Denver police issued a warrant for Brown’s arrest on suspicion of first-degree attempted homicide.
Detectives got a tip through CrimeStoppers that Brown was going to New York.
Denver authorities notified Burlington police that Brown might be on a bus. Brown was arrested without a fight. Information was unavailable on his extradition to Colorado.
