Brent Patry’s power-play goal with just more than five minutes left in the third period lifted Rochester Institute of Technology to a 5-2 victory over Air Force in the consolation game of the Quinnipiac Cup in Northford, Conn., on Saturday.

RIT scored two empty-net goals in the final two minutes. The Falcons (1-3) had leads of 1-0 and 2-1 in the game and never trailed until the five-minute mark of the third period.

The Tigers did not score an even-strength goal on the Falcons, scoring three power-play goals and a short-handed goal.

Air Force was 0-for-13 on the power play.

The Falcons host No. 2-ranked Denver on Friday, then plays sixth-ranked Colorado College on Saturday in Colorado Springs.
