A New Spirit Wellness
Center & Spa

5020 W. 29th Ave., Denver

Wash the weight of the
day away in a flotation tank.
It works on the brain and the
body. Warm darkness takes
you to that creative place at the edge of sleep.

Resting in a bath
of saltwater relieves stress on the body. It’s not an “Altered
States” place by any means, but spa owner Andrea Leigh says
floaters emerge from the serenity of the tank feeling way better.

MONDO EXOTICA

Tiki Boyd’s
(at E.C.B.)

1150 E. Colfax Ave., Denver

The sports-themed E.C.B
at the Colfax Ramada Inn has
been retrofitted to retro.
Bamboo curtains. Velvet
paintings. Low, warm lights.
Martin Denny and Les Baxter on the sound system. A few stiff,
fluorescent drinks slurped from hollowed-out pineapples, and
you’re taken by tiki to a practically perfect Polynesian paradise.

TEA FOR TWO, OR MORE

Bross Hotel

312 Onarga Ave., Paonia

Reservations: 970-527-6776

Back when the Bross
Hotel opened in 1906, it
was declared “the only really
first-class hotel” in Delta County. A century later, the 10-room
inn tries to hang on to the distinction with afternoon tea, served
at 2:30 p.m. the second Saturday of every month. You could also
snuggle into one of the rooms, renovated for 21st-century tastes.
Sip or snooze, you need reservations.
