The Colorado Mammoth professional lacrosse team signed forward Ben Prepchuk and re-signed defensemen Scott Stapleford and Mark Miyashita to one-year contracts on Monday.
Prepchuk, a holdout from last season, scored 77 points in 28 games with the Mammoth from 2003-04. The Mammoth acquired him through a trade with New York early in the 2003 season. Stapleford, 24, set career highs last season with four goals and 12 assists for the Mammoth. Miyashita, the No. 1 pick in the 2003 NLL entry draft, scored 23 points as a rookie with the Vancouver Ravens in 2004.
Mammoth coach Gary Gait and forward Gavin Prout were among 23 players selected by Canada for the 2006 International Lacrosse Federation World Championships. The 18-team tournament will be played in July in London, Ontario. The U.S. team, which was selected last summer, includes Mammoth defender Jay Jalbert.

University of Denver men’s lacrosse midfielder Geoff Snider has been named to the Canadian national team, Canada coach Frank Nielsen said. Snider, a senior at DU, was one of 23 players chosen to compete for Team Canada at the ILF World Championships in July.
