The Colorado Mammoth has signed former Boston College and Niagara basketball player Mike Piwerka to a one-year contract.
The 6-foot-11 Piwerka, a defenseman, is the tallest player signed by a National Lacrosse League team.
He played basketball professionally in Europe and the Continental Basketball Association before turning to indoor lacrosse.
