The University of Colorado women’s soccer team, second-place finisher in the Big 12 Conference, will open the league championship tournament Wednesday against No. 7 Oklahoma, the conference announced Sunday. Texas A&M won its second consecutive regular-season title and opens as the No. 1 seed. The tournament will be played at Blossom Soccer Stadium in San Antonio.
Cowgirls wrap up with win over Bears
The University of Wyoming women’s soccer team finished its regular season by defeating Northern Colorado 2-1 in Laramie. Sophomore Andrea Soltau scored the game-winner for Wyoming (9-6-3) in the 30th minute. UNC’s (5-9-2) Megan Bellendir scored in the 37th.
Spartans edge Pioneers in overtime
San Jose State’s men’s soccer team (10-4-1, 6-1-0) beat the University of Denver (6-8-1, 2-5-0) 2-1 in overtime at Pioneer Field. The Pioneers’ Scott Davidson tied the game in the 72nd minute. The Spartans’ Nelson Diaz scored the game-winner in the 93rd.
