Raelynn Perez is a senior at Millennium Quest High School, part of the Denver Public Schools’ Manual Educational Complex.
In 2003 and 2004, Raelynn accompanied her principal to national conferences in Chicago, Seattle and Houston, where she exchanged insights and information with other minority high school students and parents from small schools across the nation.
Raelynn regularly participates in leadership programs with students from other Denver-area high schools and has served as a member of the mayor’s youth commission throughout high school. She has worked with the Collaborative Fund for Youth-Led Social Change and is a member of the Ms. Foundation for Women.
Raelynn has been a member of the school swim team, placing first in citywide competition, and has earned a varsity letter in swimming. This summer, she was awarded a scholarship to attend the Hawaii Extreme Adventure Scuba Camp and returned a certified open- water Professional Association of Diving Instructors diver. This year, Raelynn also lettered in volleyball.
She maintains a 3.5 grade-point average. After graduation, she plans to attend Metropolitan State College of Denver to pursue a career in criminal psychology.
