El Paso Corp. The nation’s largest natural-gas pipeline company posted a wider third-quarter loss Monday because of one-time charges related to a power plant and high oil and gas prices. The company’s quarterly loss after preferred dividends reached $321 million, or 50 cents per share, for the three months ended Sept. 30, compared with $214 million, or 33 cents per share, a year earlier. The latest results included $190 million in losses from a power-plant impairment and contract buyout and asset divestiture.

CH2M Hill The Douglas County-based engineering giant saw revenues jump to more than $2 billion in the first three quarters of this year, thanks in part to the company’s work in cleaning up the Rocky Flats weapons plant in Jefferson County. The company’s net income rose from $26.5 million on revenues of $2 billion for the first nine months of 2004 to $68.7 million on revenues of $2.26 billion for the same period this year, the company said in a document filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission on Monday. Continued growth in the design, building and engineering of transportation projects, including work on Interstate 25 through Colorado Springs, also boosted profits. Increased international business also contributed to the increase.

Time Warner Telecom Inc. The Douglas County-based provider of managed voice and data networking solutions on Monday reported a loss of $23.4 million, or 20 cents per share, compared with a loss of $30.9 million, or 27 cents a share, in the comparable period of 2004. Revenue was $177.8 million, up from $160.6 million last year.

Canyon Resources Corp. The Golden-based mining company on Monday posted a third- quarter net loss of $600,000, or 2 cents per share, on revenue of $900,000. That compared with a loss of $3.5 million, or 12 cents per share, and revenue of $2.3 million for the third quarter of 2004.
