Aurora begins this week enforcing its photo red-light violations system, which takes computer-generated photographs of cars running red lights at four intersections in the city.

The intersections are East Mississippi Avenue and South Chambers Road, East Mississippi Avenue and South Potomac Street, East Alameda Avenue and South Abilene Street and East Iliff Avenue and South Blackhawk Street. The equipment was installed in October, including warning signs that say “Photo Enforced” at least 125 feet from each intersection. The system activates when moving vehicles travel into the intersection after the signal has turned red.
