Did you know?

Aquamarine became the official state gemstone on April 30, 1971. Mounts Antero and White in Chaffee County are well-known for having gem-quality aquamarine and are some of the highest peaks for mining the stones, with elevations from 13,000 to 14,200 feet. Aquamarines found in these mountains range in color from light blue to pale blue and deep aquamarine green, and in size from very small to a little more than 2 inches in length.
