Getting your player ready...

It’s an open house and a fishing expedition rolled into one big party.

Aaron Harber, the low-key host of his own talk show on KBDI-Channel 12, holding a four-hour, live meet-and-greet at Dave & Buster’s from 5 to 9 tonight.

It gives Harber a chance to meet viewers and, just as important, net ideas for shows.

“What we’re finding is, the interaction gives us a better idea what people are suggesting,” said Harber, who has interviewed politicians, business people and others on Channel 12 for seven years.

Harber is all about interaction. His is one of the first programs streaming on the Internet, meaning, as he put it, viewers can pause the show and “get a coffee while I’ll put everybody to sleep.”

This week’s show features Congressman Joel Hefley, whom Harber worked for three years to land (9 p.m. Friday, 2 p.m. Sunday).

Those planning to attend tonight’s party at Dave & Buster’s need to RSVP to party@harbertv.com.

Mount up

Peter Boyles and former Rockies pitcher Dave Veres are leaders of the pack for the 20th annual Children’s Hospital Toy Ride on Sunday.

It will mark the fourth time KHOW 630-AM personality Boyles has been the marshal of an expected 5,000 riders, who, Boyles says, “someone once said are scary-looking guys with really good hearts.”

Boyles began riding four years ago. “I started with a 49cc Vespa and eight months later I had a 1500cc Harley Road King. Now that’s an addictive personality!”

Sunday’s ride starts at 10 a.m. at Aspen Grove shopping center, 7301 S. Santa Fe Drive, and wends its way to Children’s where new, unwrapped toys will be collected.

Now he’s a singer

Those who heard Kirk Montgomery, KUSA-Channel 9’s man-about-town, croon his way through two Christmas songs with the local band Opie Gone Bad at the Light the Lights ceremony, can play it over and over.

Montgomery and the band recorded “Do You Hear What I Hear” and “Grown Up Christmas List” to help the station’s “9 Cares Colorado Shares.”

Music lovers can download the two songs (for $1.99 apiece) by signing on to 9news.com and going to Montgomery’s blog.
