Outlaws acquire defenseman Zink

The Denver Outlaws acquired defenseman Lee Zink in a trade Wednesday with the reigning Major League Lacrosse champion Baltimore Bayhawks. Denver gave up a second-round pick in Tuesday’s supplemental draft and a second-round pick in the May 31 collegiate draft. The 6-foot-3, 195-pound All-American from Maryland was a first-round pick, fifth overall, in the 2004 collegiate draft.

World Arena to host ISU skating event

The Colorado Springs World Arena will host the International Skating Union (ISU) Four Continents Figure Skating Championships on Jan. 25-28, the final international figure skating event before the 2006 Olympic Winter Games.

It marks the second time in the event’s eight-year history the championships have been held in the United States. Many of the top skaters from North America, Asia, Australia and Africa will compete in the equivalent event to the European Championships.
