The Denver Zoo announced this morning the birth of a female African lion cub on Nov. 23rd.
The cub, which currently weighs about four pounds, is not yet on public exhibit, but visitors can watch her via live video, bonding with her mother in their den.
The new mother, named Baby, is seven years old. The newborn, which has not yet been named, is her first cub.
Baby and her mate, Krueger, are on loan to the Denver Zoo from the Columbus Zoo, as part of a Species Survival Plan.
The zoo says the newborn cub is genetically unique.
