Officials in Summit County failed to turn up clues today in the case of a 62-year-old woman missing since Monday and are on the verge of calling off the active search.
Searchers drilled through the ice of Dillon Reservoir this morning and used underwater cameras to try and find any sign of Patricia McCormick, who disappeared while delivering auto parts. Others looked unsuccessfully along out-of-the-way roads.
Undersheriff Derek Woodman indicated that authorities had checked all of the likely, and even unlikely, spots, and that their work was largely done.
Without further leads, Woodman said, McCormick’s disappearance would likely be classified a “cold missing persons” case.
