The Colorado Mammoth added Denver resident Mike Law to its training camp roster. Law was recently released by the National Lacrosse League’s San Jose Stealth.

In addition, the team released a secondary logo, a graphic featuring a ferocious, tusked behemoth from the ice age. The team’s primary logo remains an “M” that curves into tusks, one of which represents a “C” for Colorado.

Lamar’s Lord nets third NFR victory

Shali Lord of Lamar and her horse Slider raced to a third consecutive barrel racing victory Monday night at the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas, finishing in 13.82 seconds to keep the lead in the season standings. Lord earned $15,649 for Monday’s race to push her season total to $128,834.

Fazekas grabs WAC basketball honor

Nevada junior Nick Fazekas, a Ralston Valley High School graduate, was named the Western Athletic Conference’s player of the week. Fazekas averaged 29 points and 9.5 rebounds in last week’s road wins at Kansas and Pacific.
