Fido’s wanderlust has finally met its match

Afraid your beloved pet will dart out the door, never to be seen again? Consider attaching a GlobalPetFinder to your pet’s collar. Available in black or green, the water-resistant device has a built-in Global Positioning System (GPS) that tracks your pet’s movements. Should your pet become lost, its GPS system can send information about the pet’s location to your computer, cellphone or PDA. The 5-ounce device is suitable for pets weighing 30 or more pounds. It costs $350 and requires a $35 activation fee plus an $18-a-month subscription.

Multimedia with a lean, hungry look

You may not be able to slim down during the holidays, but with Samsung’s help, at least your phone can. Samsung’s sleek black MM-A900 cellphone weighs just 3.9 ounces and is 0.57 inches thick. (And yes, you’re right: it does resemble Motorola’s stylish black Razr phone.) Designed to work with Sprint’s multimedia services, the Samsung model plays on-demand live TV, streaming music and downloaded tunes. The flip-top model boasts a 1.3-megapixel camera and camcorder, Bluetooth wireless technology and two color screens. It costs $350, or $200 after a rebate to new customers with a two-year service plan.

If you snap digital photos faster than your friends can say cheese, Faces.com has a deal for you. For $7.99 a month, the online photo service will print an unlimited number of 4-inch by 6-inch prints on archival-quality photo paper. Just know that the monthly fee doesn’t cover shipping, which costs $1.75 for the first 10 prints and 50 cents for each additional 10. The site also offers other photo services, including tools that let you edit photos, create online photo albums and design home pages.

Docking station plays well with others

The ThunderDock 602 Universal Docking Station isn’t picky about what it plays. Not only does the 12-watt dual-speaker system work with any Apple iPod model, but it also can play music coming from other digital music players, portable satellite radios, CD players, DVD players and even a few music-minded cellphones. It also functions as a charger for docked iPods and music players that can be recharged via a USB port. Available in black or white, the system costs $80.
