U.S. junior pairs figure skating champions Mariel Miller and Rockne Brubaker are ending their partnership because of her growth spurt.
Miller was 5 feet when she partnered with the 5-9 Brubaker in September 2003.
She is now 5-4, and that makes lifts and throws difficult. Miller will continue to attend Cheyenne Mountain High School and train in Colorado Springs, now as a singles skater.
Brubaker also plans to continue training in Colorado Springs while looking for a new partner and attending Pikes Peak Community College.
