Kwanzaa lights up the zoo

5-9 P.M. | Kwanzaa takes center stage at the Zoo Lights. The holiday honors the heritage of African-Americans. This event includes African dance, music and history at the Denver Zoo. Admission is $4-$7. Call 303-376-4800 or visit denverzoo.org.

Bone up on dinosaur history with a self-guided walk

7 A.M.-4 P.M. | MORRISON Walk off some of those pounds you put on at all those Christmas parties on a self-guided walking tour of Dinosaur Ridge. Interpretive signs along the route offer insights into the dinosaur tracks and bones and other fossils on view. The route covers 1 1/4 miles of West Alameda Parkway over Dinosaur Ridge. 1-2 P.M. | CENTENNIAL Learn about the Jewish holiday Hanukkah, which is also called the Festival of Lights, and enjoy crafts, games and snacks at the Smoky Hill Library, 5430
