Lincoln, Neb. – Northern Colorado put together a 23-4 run to take a 37-35 lead with 16:39 to play Tuesday night against Nebraska, but the Cornhuskers rallied for a 60-50 victory.

Northern Colorado (1-16) ended the first half with an 11-4 run to cut the halftime lead of the Huskers (10-3) to 10. The Bears continued their assault in the second half by scoring 12 consecutive points to take the lead on Sean Taibi’s 3-pointer.

“I told our guys at halftime if we outrebound them and hold them to 40 percent shooting that we would be right in it at the end,” Bears coach Craig Rasmuson said. “If we would have gotten a couple shots, we would’ve been right there at the end.”

Jamel White’s layup with 14:49 left ended a seven- minute Nebraska scoring drought and tied the game at 37. Wes Wilkinson’s dunk 40 seconds later put the Huskers back in the lead for good.
