Sage Hospitality Resources, a Denver-based hotel-management and development company, has big plans for 2006, including opening three hotels and acquiring at least 13 other urban properties.
To help support its expansion goals, privately held Sage Hospitality has created and hired people for four new senior management positions: Brad McCreedy, vice president of sales; Will Loughran, vice president of revenue; Robin Kirk, regional vice president of operations; and Peter Karpinski, senior vice president, restaurant division.
“Sage just closed out its best year in the company’s 21-year history, and the stage is set for many more acquisitions in the next year,” said Brad Robinette, senior vice president of revenue-growth service at Sage Hospitality. “To get ready for that, we opted to bring on some additional senior-level talent.”
Sage Hospitality owns or manages more than 45 hotels nationwide, both independent properties and major brands such as Sheraton and Hilton Garden Inn. The company is responsible for 14 properties in Colorado, including downtown’s Oxford Hotel and Vail’s Lionshead Inn.
Its $44 million, 229-room Residence Inn by Marriott at 17th and Champa streets is scheduled to open this month.
Sage Hospitality is also known for converting historic properties into hotels, such as the former Joslin’s department store in downtown Denver, which is now a Courtyard by Marriott. The company is in the process of restoring three historic landmark hotels in Chicago; Portland, Ore.; and Providence, R.I.
The company employs more than 3,500 people nationwide, 90 in its corporate office.
