The playoffs are finally here. It’s an inexplicable feeling of excitement and anticipation. It may seem as if we have been waiting only a week to make a splash in this year’s postseason, but that is far from reality.
Anyone who knows this team knows that we have been playing this entire season with our eyes on the ultimate prize. Now the time is here to play the games that really matter and can get us to where we know we belong.
The attitude of this team leading up to a game always has been that of dedicated individuals, committed to doing whatever is asked in order to win the coming game. But now the focus of this team has shifted into a higher gear. Our practices are at a faster pace and our meetings are full of intense faces and busy pens writing down every single tip that might give us an edge this weekend.
My personal excitement for this week’s game can’t be compared to any feeling I ever have had. This team has been working hard for a year to get to this game, but I have been working hard since the fifth grade to play in a game of this magnitude.
In the same way the team has played a season’s worth of games to earn the right to play the defending Super Bowl champs Saturday, I have played hundreds of games on several levels of competition to get myself onto the field in an NFL playoff game.
