Best deal: Visit the markets away from the tourist areas to experience wonderful low-cost local cuisine and interesting arts and crafts, and clothing made by warm, friendly people.
Best time to go: Bigger than the United States, China is situated in the Northern Hemisphere and has similar seasons to America. You will need warm wear in the north during the winter months and light clothing in the south during the summer. Try going to China during the 2008 Olympics.
