Dollar stores are ubiquitous in the state and country, as the busy opening of Family Dollar’s 88th store in Colorado on Thursday at 460 Broadway proves.
Last year, however, saw a slowdown brought on by tougher competition from grocery chains and mass discounters. Gas prices also pinched consumers.
None of that was evident at Thursday’s opening, which was marked by anxiety, enthusiasm and curiosity.
