Businesswomen gather to network
The Northern Colorado chapter of eWomen Network will meet Wednesday at the Fort Collins Hilton, 425 W. Prospect Road. Featured speaker Tami K. Spaulding, a top-producing Realtor, will present “Go for the GOAL!”
Informal networking will begin at 5:30 p.m., followed by the program from 6 to 8 p.m.
Attendees will connect with women who want to do business with other women and discover new contacts, resources, alliances and partnering possibilities. The eWomenNetwork has a trademarked brand of Accelerated Networking events that are held across the U.S. and Canada and have been helping professional women in Denver, Colorado Springs and elsewhere connect since the group’s founding in 1999. Now this resource and opportunity to connect is available to businesswomen along the northern Front Range.
For more information or to register, call 970-669-5089 or go to www.eWomenNetwork.com, click on “Networking Events,” and select “CO, Northern Front Range.
Residents to get look at water plan
Castle Rock residents can learn more about the town’s long-range water plan at presentations before the Town Council takes up the issue Jan. 31.
Meetings will be held Wednesday at Castle Rock Middle School, 2575 Meadows Blvd., or Jan. 23 at the Castle Rock Municipal Courtroom in the Castle Rock Police Station, 100 Perry St.
Both meetings will be at 6:30 p.m.
The plan was written with the help of a citizens group during an 18-month period, incorporating the best management practices, surface water sources, reuse and conservation.
The plan calls for developing a 75 percent sustainable water supply backed by renewable and reusable water sources, instead of continuing to pump from aquifers that are getting harder and more expensive to tap.
A recent survey commissioned by the town showed overwhelming public support: 91 percent of residents agree with the initiative, and 86 percent support Castle Rock’s proposed partnership with the Parker Water and Sanitation District to expand Rueter-Hess Reservoir to store more renewable water.
More parking offered near I-70
Beginning this weekend, recreational and other users of the Hogback park-n-Ride lots at Interstate 70’s Morrison Road exit will be directed to additional parking at the nearby Jefferson County Administration and Courts Facility, 100 Jefferson County Parkway.
Signs will direct the way to the additional parking places. The county lots are an alternative parking location on weekends and holidays when the Hogback lots – popular with carpoolers to the high country – are full.
The effort is a partnership between the Colorado Department of Transportation and Jefferson County.
