Are Bobby Brown and Whitney Houston headed to divorce court?

The New York Daily News reports Brown, 36, told friends he plans to file for divorce from Houston, 42. The couple, who wed in July 1992, have been had a tumultuous marriage awash in battles with drugs and alcohol. Brown also has been charged with misdemeanor battery after he allegedly assaulted Houston in their Georgia home. The couple has a daughter, Bobbi Kristina, 12.

Sanaa Lathan, a co-star with Denzel Washington in the 2003 thriller “Out of Time,” denies she and the Oscar-winning actor had an affair.

“(The rumor) got started because the movie had a love scene with Denzel, and people took that and translated it to real life,” the 34-year-old actress told Vibe magazine for its February issue. Washington, 51, has been married to his wife, Pauletta, for 22 years.

Brittany Murphy is engaged to Joe Macaluso, a production assistant on the actress’ 2004 romantic comedy “Little Black Book.” Macaluso popped the question armed with a nearly four-carat Tiffany diamond ring, People and Us Weekly magazines reported. No wedding date has been set.

Also engaged: Andie Macdowell is going for husband No. 3. Kevin Geagan, owner of a car dealership near Macdowell’s Asheville, N.C., home, confirmed to the Asheville Citizen-Times, “We are engaged. Obviously I’m very happy.”

Hilary Swank and her husband, Chad Lowe, have separated, but the two-time Oscar-

winning actress says that doesn’t mean their eight-year marriage is over.

“We’re still trying to save it,” Swank told “Access Hollywood” at the Golden Globe Awards. “It’s not over; we’re not divorced. We’ve been together for over 13 years, and there’s a lot of love there.”

Federal officials have concluded the animals Michael Jackson has kept at his Neverland Ranch are not being mistreated.

The Department of Agriculture sent an inspector to the 2,600-acre ranch last month in response to a complaint from People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals. PETA based its complaint on ever-trustworthy European tabloid reports that animals were being kept in substandard conditions.

Pushing the final frontier, Shatner sells kidney stone

We’ve heard of selling autographs, photos, etc., but William Shatner has sold his kidney stone for $25,000. Shatner reached an agreement Monday to sell the stone to GoldenPalace.com with money going to Habitat for Humanity.

“This takes organ donors to a new height, to a new low, maybe,” Shatner said. The stone was so big, he added, “You’d want to wear it on your finger.”
