Colfax: now serving up a different kind of drug.
Don’t expect to see a decline in the number of Buzzworthy items located on Colfax or Broadway any time soon.
The former continues to be host to a booming business district, including the newest buzzing java brewery.
Hooked on Colfax is the strip’s newest coffee joint, located in the heart of east Colfax and features coffee shop drinks donning names of nearby businesses, like “The Goosetown” or “The Mezcal.”
Aside from its selection of Pablo’s coffee drinks, it offers free wi-fi, community meeting facilities and a pleasant coffee house atmosphere.
A good place to unwind and soak in Denver’s take on caffeine.

They’re not joking about the pickles being spicy.
If you’re wanting to skip the corporate conglomerate fast food lunch rush, take a number in line at Denver’s local Spicy Pickle.
Now with seven (soon to be 12) metro locations, Spicy Pickle’s fantastic take on sandwiches and more is worth the wait in line, and its weight in its selection of cheeses and superior deli meats.
Any kind of cibatta or focaccia that spends some time on the grill is okay by me, and judging by the rate of expansion, Spicy Pickle is okay by most.
The locations span north, south, east, and west.

Maybe my new favorite hideaway.
It’s hard for a mid-western town like Denver to pull off the Italian mob joint, but Capone’s on Ellsworth sure did.
You’re greeted by the kitchen right when you walk into the restaurant-slash-bar, as well as a menu full of authentic Italian items. The bar is privately separate from the dining area, and lit by candles with a hodge podge of furniture, making it clear that if you’re there, you might have some ‘important business’ to discuss as you crack your knuckles.
Good service, a quiet bar and a tasty menu make Capone’s one of my favorite place to hide.
What: Capone’s Hideaway
Where: 5 East Ellsworth
