Laramie – Jodi Bolerjack scored a career-high 25 points and Erin Hicks added 21, tying her season high, as Wyoming beat Colorado State 87-80 in overtime Wednesday night before a record crowd of 3,777 at Arena Auditorium.
The Cowgirls scored eight points in the last 15 seconds, tying the game at 66 and forcing overtime. Wyoming (13-4) then outscored Colorado State 21-14 in overtime to secure the victory.
Down 44-30 with 15:25 left, the Rams hit three 3-pointers in a 20-6 run that gave them their first lead of the game, 56-55, with 3:19 to go.
Bolerjack answered for the Cowgirls, converting a three-point play that put Wyoming up 58-56 with 2:46 left.
Colorado State (7-10) surged back with an 8-0 run that made it 64-58 with 30 seconds left to set up Wyoming’s final flurry before overtime.
The Rams outrebounded the Cowgirls 53-36, but Wyoming countered with defensive pressure, scoring 18 points off of 19 forced turnovers.
“It was a tremendous night of finding some things inside us and we stayed in the moment, no matter happened in the game,” Rams coach Jen Warden said. “No matter who we tapped on the shoulder, they were ready to do whatever was needed.”
Nevada-Las Vegas (12-5) jumped to a 15-point halftime lead and cruised to a 66-56 victory over Air Force (10-8) at Clune Arena.
Colorado College’s Melanie Auguste made three free throws with 0.5 of a second left in overtime to give the Tigers (10-7) an 82-81 victory over New Mexico Highlands (6-10) at Reid Gymnasium.
