Arapahoe County – A man accused of killing two drivers by starting a road rage collision on E-470 was bound over today on murder charges by a district court judge.

Jason Reynolds, 32, of Parker, faces a possible death sentence or life in prison if convicted on two counts of first-degree murder with extreme indifference by a jury. He also faces two counts of vehicular homicide stemming from the Nov. 8 collision.

Killed in the crash were Kelvin Norman, 50, of Highlands Ranch, and Greg Boss, 35, of Lone Tree.

Arapahoe County District Court Judge Marilyn Leonard ruled that Reynolds drove in such a manner that he acted with “malice” and “extreme indifference to the value of human life.”

Reynolds didn’t target either victim specifically, Leonard said, but he was a threat to all drivers and passangers around him.

Reynolds’ arraignment is set for March 10.

Testimony at a preliminary hearing on Monday was enough to establish that Reynolds pulled directly in front of a Toyota 4Runner, driven by Norman, at about 70 mph and Reynolds hit his brakes, Leonard said.

Norman swerved to avoid the rear end of Reynolds’ Jeep, lost control of the 4Runner and collided into Boss’ vehicle in oncoming traffic.

After the ruling Mary LeFrance, Boss’ girlfriend, hugged another woman in the hallway outside the courtroom and they wept.

LeFrance said the district attorney’s office “did an outstanding job pursuing the appropriate murder charges.”

The state legislature should enact new, tougher laws regarding “road rage” collisions, LeFrance said.

LeFrance has no pity for Reynolds, who is being held without bail.

She said: “I hope one of hell’s hottest corners is left for Jason Reynolds.”
