Colorado College, sixth in college hockey’s PairWise Rankings, hopes to snap a four-game losing streak when it hosts No. 18 North Dakota tonight to begin a two-game Western Collegiate Hockey Association series at the World Arena.
“We just have to find a way to win a game or two,” said Tigers coach Scott Owens, whose team failed to score more than two goals in two losses apiece to PairWise No. 1 Wisconsin and No. 2 Minnesota. “We’ve actually not played that poorly. … So we don’t need a drastic overhaul, but just play smarter.”
Only seniors have scored during CC’s skid, and the Tigers have gone 3-7 in WCHA play since a 6-1-1 start.
“We’re working extremely hard, not panicking, and getting ready to battle against another good team,” Owens said. “We just need more secondary (forward) scoring and production from our defensive corps.”
