Lafayette, La. – The University of Denver shot a woeful 19 percent from the field in a 49-38 loss Saturday night to Louisiana-Lafayette.
Just nine players (five for DU) scored in the game.
Denver (12-11, 5-5 Sun Belt) was led by 14 points from Yemi Nicholson and 12 from Antonio Porch.
Michael Southall scored 18 points and Dwayne Mitchell added 17 to lead the Ragin’ Cajuns (7-14, 3-7). Mitchell also had nine rebounds and seven assists.
Louisiana-Lafayette shot 38 percent from the field and got to the free-throw line just twice, sinking only one.
